Lindsay Smith, President

Hello, my name is Lindsay! This is my fourth year on the PTO, and I look forward to partnering with the OV Hawk Community. I have a degree in Education and have a true love for being around kids. I have three kids at OV this year; a fifth grade girl, a third grade boy and a first grade girl. I also have two boys at the middle school (6th and 8th grade) and one boy at Eastern High School (sophomore). I am looking forward to this year and excited to enhance our Hawk community! Go Hawks!

Erika Kain, Vice President

Hi & Hello from Erika Kain, as the current Teacher + Staff Appreciation Chairman, I have loved becoming your Vice President and supporting the PTO even more! This boy mama currently has a third grader and Junior Kindergardener at OV, so y'all are stuck with me for a while!! As a former educator for 8 years before becoming a mom, I love being able to play a supportive role in the school system for our families and staff! It's a blessing and passion to help wherever I can!

Josh McCabe, Vice President

Hello, my name is Josh. I am excited to be on the PTO and am looking forward to helping and being involved in the OV Hawk Community. I have a daughter going into the second grade next year. We had a great experience at OV so far and we are looking forward to the coming years and helping the Hawk Community grow. My professional background is in engineering and business development. I enjoy being involved and thrilled to have the opportunity to lend my support to the Hawks.

Emily Bishop, Secretary

Hello, my name is Emily and I am so excited to be part of our PTO again this school year. I’m looking forward to helping keep you connected to all that’s happening at OV and supporting the incredible work our teachers do each and every day. This year, I have a daughter in fifth grade, a son in first grade, and a daughter in GSRP at OV. I’m a former elementary school teacher and currently a professor in the Education Department at GVSU. I care deeply about public education and truly believe in the power of a strong connection between school and community. I’m so excited for the year ahead and all we can accomplish together as a community of Hawks!

Andrea Swartz, Treasurer

Hi, I am Andrea Swartz and I am excited to be serving my second year on the Orchard View Elementary PTO Board as Treasurer. As a dedicated parent and community member, I bring my professional expertise as an Environmental Sustainability Leader—having led impactful stewardship initiatives across West Michigan with organizations like Meijer and Wolverine Worldwide.

My family and I are proud members of the Forest Hills Public School District. My husband and I have two children: Theo, who will be entering 3rd grade, and Charlize, a future OV Hawk who’s already eager to join the school community. My primary goal this year is to help strengthen parent engagement at Orchard View, fostering a vibrant connection between school and home to support every child’s growth and experience.

When I am not crunching numbers or championing sustainability, my family and I love to hike, bike, camp, and embrace new adventures together.
